CAMPUS RECRUITMENT INTERVIEW – POLARIS

HI friends, I’m Suraj and recently got placed in POLARIS held on 29th July 2006, in Don Bosco Institute, VidyaVihar, Mumbai. Well it was a joined

campus recruitment process, where apart from my collg, almost 18 other leading collg students were also present..to name a few such as Vidyalankar IT,

A.C. Patil, Terna, Atharva etc…. We were called @ sharp 8.30 am on that Saturday. Well, we needed to wait at least for 2 hrs for the aptitude test.

1115 hrs :-Aptitude test

• The test consisted of 60 objective type questions à Duration 60 minsà 60 marks

• There were NO negative markings.

• There were 2 versions (SET) in paper 1.3 and 1.4. I got 1.4

• Most of the questions were from R.S.Aggarval Quantitative Aptitude Section and Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning Section.

• Questions were mainly from the following Sections (R.S.Aggarval )-

1. H.C.F and L.C.M of numbers (1 quest)

2. Percentage (1-2 quest)

3. Profit and Loss (1 quest)

4. Partnership (2 quest)

5. Chain Rule (2 quest)

6. Time and Work (1 quest)

7. Problems on Trains (2 quest)

8. Simple Interest (IMP) (4-5 quest)

9. Area, Volume (2 quest)

10. Calendar (3 quest)

11. Clocks (1 quest)

12. Permutations & Combinations (3 quest)

13. Shares (3-4 quest)

14. Odd man Out Series (4-5quest)

15. Synonyms (5 quest)

16. Logical Decision Making (5 quest)

The paper was purely based on R.S.Aggarval and nothing else.

1700 Hrs :-

Almost 150 students were short listed from around 800+ candidates and I was lucky to survive it!

We were expecting G.D to happen but they announced to take interviews (H.R + Tech) directly. My name was included in the very first list for interview.

1830 Hrs :-

My interview began. There were 2 panel members. It was very easy and will cover your area of interest and Basics from c, c++ and computer knowledge.

Questions asked were as follows :

1. Tell me something about yourself?

2. Born and bought up in Mumbai?

3. Where is your father working? What Post?

4. Which are your dream companies? (of course other than POLARIS)

If you get an offer to work in another company with better salary and in a better post, would you leave us?

5. Your + and – points.

6. difference between stack and heap, when are they used?

7. Advantages and advancements of OOP

8. What is malloc( ) function ? where it is used? If C++, why not in C?

9. What do you expect from us?

10. Being an ETRX student, why you prefer to join a Software Company?

11. If you get an offer to work in our branch which is not according to your preference, will you accept the offer?

12.He gave me a situation, Suppose you are working for a project in a group of 4(say). If your project manager/ in charge ordered you to complete the

project alone within 3-4 days, working day- night for the project, what would be your reactions? Will you get frustrated? Willing to work for more hrs

if required?

13. Preference of Job location.

14. Program to swap 2 numbers using pointers.

15. How well are you prepared to switch from ETRX stream to Software field?

These were some questions I remember… Well, I was interviewed for almost 35 minutes and had to wait for almost 5 hours for the result.
