Where are Study Abroad Programs Offered?

Salamanca, Spain
The program offers a total immersion experience for students through a five and a half-week study program at the University of Salamanca, program-related excursions, and housing with Spanish families. Students will experience first-hand the culture of Spain, practice the language with Spanish friends, and become acquainted with the cities of Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada and Torremolinos.

Classes at the University of Salamanca are limited to 15 students per class and are taught by university faculty. Students will take a placement test on the first day of class and be placed in intermediate or advanced levels. They will receive either four or six hours of classroom instruction daily, including one required course in grammar. Students may choose elective courses from culture, translation, literature, history and art, business and economics, or conversation and composition.

Mid-Sweden University Exchange Program

Academic credit is awarded. Approximate Cost: $5,000, which includes air travel, housing, meals, and books. Sweden universities do not charge tuition. Spain Use Salamanca as your base to learn the language, culture, history, and economics of Spain. Estimated cost: $4,000 for 6 credit hours, $4,300 for 9 credit hours, which includes tuition and fees, air travel, housing, meals, ground transportation, and laundry.

Who Can Study Abroad?

Overseas study programs are open to all ASU students who are in good academic standing. Some programs may have certain other requirements, such as a minimum grade point average. In most cases, knowledge of the host language is not a prerequisite.

What Does It Cost?

The quoted prices are estimated as air fares and hotel rates are subject to change. While the costs for study abroad programs may seem high at first, if you add up tuition, fees, housing, meals, and cost of round-trip air fares, you will find that the programs are reasonable. Most forms of financial aid will apply to study aboard, including the Hope Scholarship. The Regents Study Aboard Scholarships and other competitive scholarships are also available for some programs. Questions regarding financial aid should be directed to the campus coordinator of the program or to the financial aid office.
